August 2018 Update
Our August Social meeting went ahead at Emo Court on Tuesday last and with the weather being quite pleasant it was held outdoors. As well as dining alfresco we had an alfresco Quiz Sheet from Sheelagh Coyle (courtesy of Mick Lenihan). Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 4th September with details re venue to follow.
In the meantime I have had a suggestion from former chairperson Catherine Coleman re. a possible visit to The Gate Theatre in Dublin for a matinee edition of the stage adaptation of Roddy Doyle's The Snapper which she has heard good reports of.She suggests Wed. August 29th for the 2.30 show with people interested to make their own way to Dublin and meet up at the theatre.If interested in this trip please let me know by Thursday night of this week so I can book a block of tickets. We will need a minimum to make the trip worthwhile. Please contact any of your colleagues who are not on email list re plan. and keep an eye on emails re. the idea as I will confirm as soon as possible if it will go ahead.
The death occurred on Thursday last of Maureen Dunne of Castlecuffe ,Clonaslee.She was an N.T. in Wicklow and Rath,Ballybrittas and in her 99th year.While she was not a member of Laois RTAI perhaps she is known to some of our members. The funeral of Maureen RIP took place in Clonaslee on Friday and Saturday last.
