As mentioned in previous e-mails the RTAI (national) have arranged a second WEBINAR (the first was in July) re Health Insurance and information on the various policies etc.with the renowned Health Insurance expert Dermot Goode. This takes place as already notified on next TUESDAY 10th September at 12.00 (noon). If you are interested in joining this webinar you have to pre-register. To do so just go to the RTAI website (just google RTAI IRELAND) and fill in the on-line form. For those in the Laois Whatsapp group I will be sending you a message on your phone with the link for applying.
I am now giving you official notice/clarification re the AGM of the Laois Branch with more details and the agenda ,nomination forms on attachments to this e-mail (members without e-mail addresses have already received their notice by post). The AGM of Laois Branch RTAI is scheduled for TUESDAY 17TH DECEMBER with a 12.30 (prompt) start in THE KILLESHIN HOTEL,PORTLAOISE and all members of the Laois branch are invited to attend.
The Meeting will be followed by our now annual Christmas Lunch and all members are encouraged to remain. The cost of the meal (3 course Starter/Main/Mince pies & tea/coffee) will be paid for by the Branch as our funds are still in a healthy situation.However as in previous years I am proposing that diners make a generous individual contribution to our Charity Collection Box with Laois Hospice recommended again this year as the recipients of our collection. (Last year this amounted to € 1116).
As the hotel needs to know the numbers (for catering ) in advance I am asking you to inform me if you intend to attend the meal. Please let me know by text or email on or before Friday 13th December. Thereafter if you have a change of mind or circumstances please let me know as soon as possible as it's likely the hotel will charge based on the numbers given to them so the earlier I can let the hotel know the better. I would also appreciate apologies but if I do not hear from you I will presume your non-attendance.
I have 2 attachments with this correspondence i.e. the Notification and Agenda for the AGM ( as paper copies of same will be very limited) and a Nomination/Motion Sheet.The latter (titled General Letter) is a new departure to avoid the nominating of people from the floor and shows the positions that are available and also has a space for Motions to RTAI Annual Convention. You have a number of options re. the return of the form. You can print it ,fill in and return to myself (Secretary) or Chairperson (Breda Broderick) at any stage before 12.30 start of Meeting.
Alternatively (and preferably) you can scan a copy of the completed form and e-mail or send by phone to me. I will also accept nominations by a simple text or email on or before Monday 16th December.
For your information I will not be accepting nominations for myself for the role of Secretary/Treasurer a position I have held for the last 8 years i.e. I am 'retiring' from the role.
I may have further information re. the Lunch etc. e.g menu and I will hopefully acknowledge/reply to all the members re. attendance.
