Hi members Laois RTAI,
There was a good attendance (30) at the Summer Meeting of Laois RTAI on Thursday 13th June in the Laois Education Centre with General Secretary Billy Sheehan in attendance for his annual visit to the branch. For anyone who could not attend I have attached the hand-out from Billy -a summary of the items that were discussed.
Chairman John Mulhare presided and other than General Secretary presentation the Secretary read the minutes of the AGM (from December 2018-which will be read again in December).Chairman congratulated Catherine Coleman on her election to The Standing Orders Committee (in March). Votes of sympathy were passed to Bernie Moran on the recent death of her mother -Christina Dunne,Killucan,Co. Westmeath and to Sean Mullaney on the untimely death of his niece Aoife Mullaney,Castletown.
There was a brief discussion on Social activities with the next meeting in Durrow Castle on Tuesday 2nd July (more details later).The August meeting is provisionally booked for Manor Hotel Abbeyleix and the September meeting for Emo Court. The next Golf Outing will be in Roscrea Golf Club on Friday 13thSeptember and is being co-ordinated by Catherine Lorigan .It will have a 10.30 assembly for a 11 am start (reminders and further information re these events closer to the date).
Maureen O Leary asked me to inform you that the Cuisle Centre are holding a Golf Classic in The Heath Golf Club on Tuesday 16th July-further details are available on the Heath Golf Club website and bookings for the charity event can be made online.
The Laois Education Centre has a new director Ms. Catherine Doolan who has made Laois RTAI welcome to use the facilities. The Laois RTAI is very grateful to the previous director Mr. Jim Enright for his hospitality and courtesy to us during his term of office which has concluded and we wish him well for the future.
