Greetings to all RTAI Laois members,28th February 2022
Thanks to those who forwarded suggestions for venues for our proposed Social Meeting for March. I did not reply individually (yet anyway) but appreciate communication and some of the suggested venues may be used later in the year. As we were looking for a place for a casual/informal meeting with tea/coffee/scones I have taken up the suggestion of THE CLUBHOUSE at THE HERITAGE,KILLENARD on the basis that it is a new venue and has the required facilities. I am aware that this is not the most central part of the county but worth a try as it might attract members from the Portarlington area. Anyway hopefully it will be suitable for our purposes just a meeting for a chat and cuppa on TUESDAY 8TH MARCH at 2 PM. While it is not a formal meeting (as Killeshin in December) the Golf Club would like an idea of our numbers so I would appreciate if you intend to attend if you could inform me by previous day ( noon-Mon 7th ).There are no requirements re. Covid certs, and masks are not obligatory (though maybe still advisable in crowded areas).
If you have any ideas for future monthly (normally first Tuesday) meetings please bring them to the meeting. Mary McCarthy will be proposing a return to Golf Outings (Laois courses) for starters.We will be returning to having our ( big) Summer Meeting hopefully in June provided the pandemic situation does not deteriorate and will also be looking for a venue for that (normally Laois Education Centre).
I will hopefully get around to sending a note re return of activities to people on my postal list but if you know any of these members perhaps you could remind them just in case! Also others who may not be getting emails (eg changed from eircom but no new address received)!!
