The Golf Outing went ahead at Roscrea Golf Club with the average turn-out despite inclement weather. Thanks to Mary McCarthy as usual for organising the event and to Catherine Lorigan for sorting the Roscrea part. The next Golf Outing will be in October at Portarlington Golf Club (Garryhinch) and I will forward date etc. when it is confirmed.
Re. our October Social Meeting (Tuesday 4th) a member has contacted me with a suggestion for a change of venue and event which I am putting to you to gauge interest—The venue MANOR STONE GARDEN etc. CENTRE at Ballacolla Motorway Stop and a talk from personnel there re. AUTUMN PLANTING.In addition the Centre will offer a 20% discount off plants at the centre to the attendees.This talk can be followed by a cuppa etc.The ‘gardening talk’ will be free but to make the refreshments part viable we will need an attendance of c. 15 members. If you are interested in attending please let me know. Again if you know of non e-mail members who might be interested please let them know.In order to go ahead with this I will need to know quite quickly so it can be booked.So if you are interested let me know by this coming Friday.(16th September)
Re our November Social idea of the Cinema Visit to Dunamase to see An Cailin Ciuin the response has been slow and I am waiting for the numbers to exceed our average Social Attendance (c. 10) before booking. So again if you are interested in seeing this ‘critically acclaimed ‘ movie (think it is subtitled for those whose Gaeilge mightn’t be the best)on Wednesday 9th November at 11.00 please let me know soon.(one of our members has seen it and so impressed is going again).
