I hope all had a good Easter and looking forward to the Summer ahead.

We had a good attendance (16) at our Social Meeting on April 12th and following a very well organised seated tea/coffee/scones we had 4 teams for our first post -pandemic Quiz with Mick Lenihans questions as usual informing and entertaining and with a close contest with 2 teams tying for first place. Thanks to Mick for conducting the quiz and to Sheelagh for organising the venue-the Hares Corner (MDA) in Mountmellick a new venue for our monthly meeting and very suitable for the occasion.
On the following Thursday ( 14th April) we had a good attendance (15) at Rathdowney Golf Club for our first Golf Outing since 2019. Thanks to Mary Dooley and Mary McCarthy for co-ordinating the event. The next GOLF OUTING will take place at Mountrath Golf Club in June with the date to be confirmed.

Of interest to golfers among our members may be the RTAI inaugural All Ireland Golf Classic which will take place in Moyvalley Golf Resort in Kildare on 27th June. The Laois branch will be hoping to have a team participating in the event and if you are interested in being part of it please let me (or Mary McCarthy) know as soon as possible. For details see attachment with this e-mail or Comhnasc page 27. This event is open to RTAI members only.
Also in the most recent issue of Comhnasc (Spring2022) are details re. The RTAI Annual Convention with the news on Benchmarking (for Principals/Deputy Principals) outlined. Also of interest to some of our members may be the HI DIGITAL programme-in which volunteer digital ambassadors are being recruited (See pages 35/36).

Our next Social Meeting is due on Tuesday next MAY 3rd (a return to the first Tuesday routine). As yet a venue has not been confirmed but if you have a suggestion for a suitable indoor venue with tea/coffee facilities please let me have it as soon as possible. We’ve already had 2 new venues since our return to activities in March (Killenard and Mountmellick) so perhaps there are other such places that we haven’t used yet. The June Meeting will hopefully be a return to the Summer General Meeting for which a venue and date have to be confirmed .Our General Secretary Billy Sheehan will attend this meeting as was his routine pre-pandemic.
