St.Patrick's Day Secletter

Greetings members on this very unusual St. Patrick’s Day  and I hope everyone keeping well in the current crisis and hopefully following all the guidelines and protocols for protection.
Needless to say all Laois RTAI activities will be cancelled or postponed for the immediate future. The theatre trip organised by Mary McCarthy for last Saturday did not go ahead as the Gate Theatre was closed and Mary will sort out the refund situation. The Golf Outing for this week in Mountrath Golf Club will not take place either as though it is outdoors it is safer not to be in close proximity to anyone and furthermore the Clubhouse is closed. Our Social Meeting for April will not take place either as there’s unlikely to be much improvement to the situation by then.Hopefully we may be in a position to return in May.
I’m not qualified to give any advice on Covid 19 virus and the best and reliable information is on the HSE website which can be accessed indirectly on the national or Laois RTAI website.
Sheelagh Coyle has informed me of an organisation Third Age Ireland which deals specifically with older people issues and which also has a section on the virus. The website is thirdage/ireland.ie and they have a contact number  1800 80 45 91 available from 10 am to 10 pm.
Hoping all our members and their families can get through this unprecedented situation safely.
 HAPPY ST.PATRICK’S DAY
