Beannachtai to members Laois RTAI,Thanks to all who attended at our first Social Afternoon of 2023 in The Heath Golf Club on Tuesday (7th Feb.). We had a very good attendance of 19 members including a few at their first event. A good number was in attendance for the Gaeilge Comhra part from 2.00pm until 2.30 so it is probably something we will continue with - giving people the option of attending earlier for that purpose. All enjoyed a sit-down tea/coffee & scones and chat (Bearla agus Gaeilge) then to get the new year going.Thanks especially to Maureen O Leary for organising the venue and refreshments.
Our March event changes from the first Tuesday to the following day Wednesday 8th with a Cinema Morning similar to An Cailin Ciuin .This time it’s another film from the same stable (but nothing to do with horses!!) ROISE AND FRANK and its also an 11.00 am start in the Dunamaise Theatre,Portlaoise.. Hopefully also I can get caterers to supply tea/coffee etc. for afters like last occasion. Places may be limited as the film is during Seachtain na Gaeilge and may be popular for 2nd level schools so please let me know as soon as possible if you hope to attend There was a big take-up from the Feb. Meeting but I may be able to get more seats (30 reserved at moment) if I know in time (the reason I’m sending notice early). Otherwise it will be on a first-come/first served basis.
Also in March -on FRIDAY 10th the Golf for members and friends returns with an outing at Mountrath Golf Club with an 11.00 am start. More details on that will follow.
