Beannachtai members Laois RTAI,

Firstly a reminder that our April Social Meeting takes place tomorrow (TUESDAY 4TH APRIL) with the Solas Garden Centre in PORTARLINGTON as our venue with a 2.00 pm start for those interested in conversing as Gaeilge and otherwise a 2.30pm start. I’ve got no feed-back re. walks in the area so we will just settle for a Social chat with cuppa. The Solas Centre is in the Dublin Road Business Park at Eircode R32RPX8.There is no need to inform me of  your attendance or otherwise.. Just turn up.
Another April event for members will be the re-organised GOLF OUTING which is now fixed for THURSDAY 27TH APRIL at MOUNTRATH GOLF CLUB. This was originally fixed for 10th March but was cancelled due to snow. Assembly time for this Golf Outing is 10.30 for cuppa/scones with tee off at 11.00 for a Three person scramble and all grades of golfers are welcome. While its not essential to register it might be useful to inform organiser Mary McCarthy (TEXT 087-2221490 or EMAIL pilgrimhill1@gmail.com) so you can be contacted if there is a change of plan etc. Also the RTAI (Annual) All-Ireland Golf Tournament is fixed for Mountrath on Monday 22nd May and Laois will be entering a team in the competition as they did last year. If you are interested in being part of the team it might be a help to attend the April Outing.

Also a reminder that Age Friendly LAOIS ‘Living Well Expo Event’ takes place on Thursday 13th April at Portlaoise College from 4.00pm to 8.00 pm. See previous email attachment for further details.
The RTAI National Annual Convention & AGM took place in Croke Park on Tuesday last 28th March and our member Mary McCarthy was duly elected as President of the organisation for a one year term until the 2024 Convention.
The 2 motions from the Laois AGM were on the agenda with successful results. Chairperson Breda Broderick proposed the motion re. Improvements to the RTAI Website to make it more useful and relevant to members . This was passed unopposed so hopefully we will see those improvements in the near future. The other motion proposed by myself (Secretary) re the availability of the InTouch INTO magazine to members  was unnecessary as to the surprise of most people it is already available to the whole world regardless of membership. So if you wish to read/browse  the InTouch (current and 9 back issues) just google ‘Intouch’ and it comes up instantly. Other publications eg. Irish Teachers Journal (inc. Back issues) are also available without INTO membership requirement.
Just preliminary notice that the May Social is on Tuesday 2nd May with a return to Manor Stone,Ballacolla. More details will follow. Also for long term planners I had given a preliminary notice re. our AGM/Christmas Dinner for 14th December. This has to be brought forward to the previous week and is now provisionally pencilled in for Thursday 7TH /Friday  8th  December.
Sin a bhfuil,
