Beannachtai to members Laois RTAI,
Another month coming towards its end and time to give notice re our MAY RTAI SOCIAL which is on the usual first Tuesday of the month.We have a change of plan for that meeting on 2nd May as due to the unavailability of the gardener at Manor Stone the planned Summer Gardening Talk would not be possible. Instead we have a new venue Heywood Gardens in Ballinakill where we can have an official guided tour/talk with a 2.00pm start.Following that we will re-assemble c. 3.15pm at The Manor Hotel in Abbeyleix for refreshments at Polly’s Outdoor (Covered if need be) Cafe. Hopefully this combination of venues will be suitable for many.
Also a reminder that the first GOLF OUTING of the year is on this THURSDAY 27th APRIL in MOUNTRATH GOLF CLUB with a 10.30 assembly (refreshments) and an 11.00 am tee-off for 3 person scramble.All grades of golfers welcome to participate.
Also Sheelagh Coyle has given me notice re. a drama created and performed by her sister Jean Farrell -a comedy The Six Marys which will take place in the Macra Hall in Mountmellick on this Friday April 28th . The night of entertainment starts with a 1 act play by Mountmellick Macra Group at 8.00pm. Admission at the door and the proceeds of the night will be donated to charity.
Also advance notice that our annual SUMMER GENERAL MEETING will take place on the first Tuesday of June (6th). This is the meeting that’s usually attended by the General Secretary and as Billy Sheehan is due to retire from the role at the end of June it will be his last Laois General Meeting in attendance. Details re time,venue will follow.
